Chiropractic and Adjunctive Therapies
Guy McCammon, Sunbury Chiropractor, utilises a combination of chiropractic instrument adjusting and traditional manual methods in his practice. This is designed to improve the function of the joints, relieving pain and muscle spasm.
When indicated he uses adjunctive therapies such as myofascial dry needling and physiological therapeutics. Exercise and postural advice is also given. The aim is to get you back to feeling yourself again quickly and then keeping you that way.
Myofascial Dry Needling
Dry needling is the insertion of fine (acupuncture) needles into trigger and tender points for the purpose of relieving pain and spasm. It is not acupuncture in the Traditional Chinese sense as it uses western theories and evidence to guide its administration.
Physiological Therapeutics
To assist healing of musculo-skeletal and soft tissue injuries, modalities such as diathermy, interferential stimulation, traction, high voltage pulsed galvanism and soft tissue therapy are used.
Rehabilitation
Therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation advice are an integral part of the overall treatment provided. The aim is to reduce pain, restore normal function and prevent recurrences.
